The Little American at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts

On September 10th, 2013, the Mary Pickford Foundation went to Chapman University’s History of Film Class to screen a 35mm print of The Little American, directed by Cecil B. DeMille and starring Mary Pickford. The 1917 film had been restored by the UCLA Film & Television Archive and the DeMille Foundation, and the director’s granddaughter, Cecilia DeMille Presley, introduced the film. UCLA Film & Television Archive director, Jan-Christopher Horak, was on hand to answer questions about the restoration project, and about film archiving and preservation.
